Communications and Administrative Coordinator

Part-time Position/Up to 15 hours a week
This position reports directly to the Administrative Director in coordination with Section lay leaders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage website and social media posts in coordination with VP of Communications.
  • Write and distribute press releases in coordination with Section lay leaders.
  • Add Section programs and events to the Atlanta Jewish Connector calendar.
  • Research and update member/advocate contact information for databases.
  • Input new volunteers into appropriate committee lists based on volunteer interest forms; inform Section vice presidents of new volunteers on their committees.
  • Communicate with and coordinate volunteers throughout the year for specific programs and projects, working in conjunction with Section vice presidents and committee chairs.
  • Assist with coordination of meetings and programs.
  • Send emails to new volunteers, welcoming them to the Section.
  • Maintain monthly birthday donation cards distribution.
  • Assist with correspondence and mailings.
  • Check the Section’s post office box regularly for mail; take outgoing mail to the post office when necessary.

Applicants should have strong computer skills (Excel), knowledge of WordPress and website maintenance, proficiency with social media (Facebook and Instagram), proficient writing abilities, and excellent organizational skills.

The individual chosen for this position must be available to work at the NCJW Atlanta office (in Sandy Springs) on Mondays and Thursdays during regular office hours (10 am-3 pm). The additional five hours will be determined monthly, with flexibility for hours in the office or working remotely.

This position will be subject to an annual review by the Atlanta Section’s Personnel Committee during the final month of the current fiscal year.
