Communications and Administrative Coordinator

Part-time Position/Up to 15 hours a week

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in tracking donations, taking ownership of addressing and mailing thank you letters for both birthday donations and general section donations.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of meetings and programs to include setting up for and providing support during most off-site programs.
  • Research and update member/advocate contact information for databases.
  • Communicate with and coordinate volunteers throughout the year for specific programs and projects, working in conjunction with Section vice presidents and committee chairs.
  • Assist with posting upcoming events, holidays, photos, urgent calls to action, etc. on social media pages.
  • Assist with member mailings, including printing, stuffing, and sending large mailings 3-4 times per year.
  • Prepare and send monthly birthday cards with donation envelopes.
  • Regularly update the Atlanta Jewish Community Connector and the in-office calendar. Work closely with the website manager to keep the online calendar current.
  • Check the Section’s post office box regularly for mail; take outgoing mail to the post office when necessary. (Post Office located in Sandy Springs)
  • Assist with planning our annual Sheroes Luncheon, including managing RSVPs, receiving and tracking sponsorship donations, and working with the planning committee on day-of-event logistics.
  • Help keep track of office supplies inventory, replenishing items when needed.
  • Input contact information for new volunteers into appropriate committee lists; inform Section vice presidents of new volunteers on their committees.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants should have:

  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, MS Word, Google Docs, Zoom, etc.
  • Knowledge of social media, especially Facebook and Instagram
  • Proficient writing abilities, and excellent organizational skills
  • Some knowledge of and interest in news and events around the Atlanta Jewish community
  • Experience with event planning not required, but very helpful

The individual chosen for this position must be available to work at the NCJW Atlanta office (in Sandy Springs) 2-3 days a week, during regular office hours (10 am-3 pm), with the ability to occasionally work from home. This position will be subject to an annual review by NCJW Atlanta Section’s Personnel Committee during the final month of the current fiscal year.
